Mark believes that Wisconsin can - and should - be the best place in the country to get a good job, raise a family, educate our kids, and live out our years. All we need is a change in leadership. And Mark has a plan to get Wisconsin back on track - his roadmap - to make Wisconsin great again!
Moving Milwaukee Forward
"Wisconsin simply cannot succeed if Milwaukee is failing. Under Jim Doyle's watch, Milwaukee has lost jobs, violent crime is on the rise, poverty is spreading and the high school graduation rate for African Americans is just about the worst in the country. Instead of trying to sweep these challenges under the rug, I want to address them head on. I'll refocus worker training efforts, promote education reform and partner with faith-based and community organizations to cure the ills that plague too many Milwaukee neighborhoods. Where Jim Doyle has failed to lead, I will." Read the plan
Rural Agenda
"Agriculture is more than just one of our state's leading economic drivers ... it's a big part of who we are. Wisconsin will always be America's Dairyland, but our farmers and rural communities are increasingly being short changed by the politicians in Madison. High taxes, high health care costs, frivolous lawsuits and mountains of red tape are holding our farm families back. As governor, I'll work to break down the barriers that are impeding rural Wisconsin's path to prosperity." Read the plan
Immigration Reform
"Our country and our state were built by immigrants who came here looking to make a better life for their families. I'm the son of immigrants, and I want other families to have the same chances I did. But we should not reward illegal behavior. Jim Doyle wants to give in-state college tuition and taxpayer-funded home loans to illegal immigrants. I disagree. I want to give incentives for people to follow our laws - not break them." Read the plan
Tax Relief for Wisconsin's Seniors
"Our tax code should not discourage senior citizens from enjoying their retirement in Wisconsin - with their family and friends close by. Retirees play an integral role in every community in our state - I want to do more to make sure they can afford to stay here. As governor, I will make sure that Wisconsin's seniors keep more of their own money by getting rid of the tax on most pensions." Read the plan
Health Care Plan
“For too many Wisconsinites, the cost of health care is growing faster than their ability to pay. Families are being forced to make tough choices without good information. Similarly, Wisconsin employers are having increasing difficulty competing globally given the burden the cost of health care places on their businesses. Jim Doyle’s answer to high health care costs has been to offer more big-government programs. I disagree. My plan will empower patients with more information and more options so they can work with their health care provider to make quality decisions. Elect me governor, and I’ll get government out of the way to ensure that Wisconsin families have access to high-quality, affordable health care.” Read the plan
Education Reform Plan
"I believe Wisconsin's kids deserve nothing less than the world's best education. While we've always had good schools, I want make them even better, and we have to address those who are being left behind. To do that, we must break down the barriers to increasing student achievement and improving academic excellence. I think we should pay teachers more for doing a good job - not simply for how long they've been on the job. I also want to expand innovations in education including choice and charter schools, and direct more of our education dollars to the classroom. We need to remove every and any obstacle standing in the way of preparing our children to succeed." Read the plan
UW Reform Plan
“Jim Doyle and his Board of Regents have mismanaged one of our state’s greatest resources – the UW System. Over the last four years, access for Wisconsin’s students has decreased, tuition for Wisconsin’s students and their families has increased by more than 50 percent and taxpayer trust has been destroyed. The UW is now actively choosing out-of-state students with worse grades and test scores ahead of Wisconsin students. I think that’s just plain wrong and I’m going to change that. I’ll put Wisconsin’s students and families first by ensuring access and affordability to the UW System.” Read the plan
Investing in Stem Cell Research
"Recent breakthroughs in stem cell research have allowed us to take the politics out of science. By demonstrating the potential to create embryonic stem cell lines without the destruction of human embryos, scientists have removed the ethical dilemma that has surrounded embryonic stem cell research. I am committed to supporting these advances in the search for cures to a number of diseases. That is why I am calling for an investment of $25 million over the next four years dedicated to advancing promising medical research without the destruction of embryos." Read the plan
Job Creation Plan
“Wisconsin has the people, the work ethic and resources to attract great jobs. We don’t have a people problem, we have a leadership problem. Good jobs are leaving, wages aren’t keeping up with our bills or other states, and we are losing too many of our young people to places that offer them better opportunities. I’ve got a plan to reverse that slide and create careers to keep our young people in Wisconsin. Elect me governor, and good jobs will be job one for Governor Green.” Read the plan
Restoring Integrity to Wisconsin's Elections
“I believe that democracy is rooted in the principle that each of us deserves to have our vote count equally – but only once. A photo ID requirement is a common-sense measure that will restore integrity and confidence to Wisconsin’s election system while making it tougher to cheat and easier to vote. ” Read the plan
Protecting Wisconsin's Farm Families
“Farming is not only part of our heritage…it is an essential part of our economy. Wisconsin’s farm families work every day to help ensure that the demands of our state’s and nation’s food supply are being met. I’m going to work to make sure our family farms are protected from unnecessary and frivolous lawsuits.” Read the plan
Directing Dollars to Wisconsin's Classrooms
"A bright future for our state depends on every child in Wisconsin receiving a great education. Taxpayer dollars should be targeted at children and classrooms - not bureaucrats and buildings. By ensuring that more funding actually reaches the classroom, I'll give our children the best opportunity to live the American Dream, and the necessary tools to become productive citizens." Read the plan
Affordable Housing for Wisconsin's Families
“Owning a home is a central tenant of the American Dream. As governor, I’ll do all I can to remove government-created barriers – like high property taxes, needless red tape and excessive regulation – that prevent Wisconsin’s hard working families from owning and enjoying their home and property .” Read the plan
Tax Relief for Parents and Students
“I can’t think of anyone more in need of a tax holiday than the over-taxed families of Wisconsin. A tax holiday will put money back into the pockets of students and parents trying to make ends meet while their paychecks don’t seem to be keeping up with increasing costs.” Read the plan
Budget Reform Plan
"Governor Doyle is guilty of BUI – Budgeting Under the Influence of special interests – and we have one of the worst budget deficits in the nation because of it. We need change in Madison. Wisconsin needs a leader who will set priorities and keep spending in line with the taxpayers’ ability to pay. My budget reform plan does just that.” Read the plan
Strengthening Our Commitment to Wisconsin's Veterans
"The commitment and dedication that our veterans have shown to our country, to our state and to our way of life must never be forgotten. We owe them our support, of course, but we owe them more. We owe it to them to make our state and our nation the best they can be.” Read the plan
Ethics Reform Plan
“Wisconsinites deserve a government that is as open and honest and as decent as they are. Government decisions need to be made in the best interest of the taxpayers – not the special interest contributors. With new leadership committed to a reform agenda, we can give the people of Wisconsin a government they can be proud of.” Read the plan
Standing Up For Wisconsin's Conservation Heritage
“More than anything else, our sporting heritage – our commitment to the outdoors – unites us as Wisconsinites. In so many ways our natural resources, and the manner in which we utilize those resources, define who we are … and they bring us closer together.” Read the plan
